Jumping into the discussion...
It seems to me that Pentax offers a lot of options for Macro. Personally I used to have a Tamron SP90/2.8 macro and currently own a Pentax FA50/2.8 and a Sigma EX180/3.5. I've often though of adding the DA35/2.8 to my collection, but so far I could resist. By far my most used lens among the macros I own(ed) is the Sigma EX180/3.5. The reason being its working distance (which obviously is the longest among these lenses) which makes it the most versatile in the wild. Also its longish focal length allows it to double for other than pure macro wildlife photography, saving me a lot of lens switching I needed to do when I was still using the Tamron SP90/2.8.
Needless to say that for me the Macro lens that Pentax is "missing" would be a longer FA*200/4 like macro. Esp since there is no real alternative with other manufacturers currently offered (the Sigma EX180/3.5 being discontinued, and the new 180/2.8 not being made in Pentax mount). Well, of course, personally, I'm not really missing that lens since I have the "old" Sigma...
