My images stolen and abused!!!!

ISO 800: 40D vs A700 and K20D: Canon EOS 40D/30D/20D/10D Forum: Digital Photography Review

I can't believe that people are stretching the fair use laws to support this guy. I'm downright enraged at this point. I'm going to knock on some doors if it doesn't get pulled quickly enough.

So out of context and so not cool.

ARGH!

I'm on your side Chris. That is nothing short of abuse of privileges. DPReview is so quick to pull rights for nonsense reasons, they should pull his posting rights for sure.

I just emailed Canon Europe and sent them everything so hopefully if he doesn't pull I'll get Canon to remove my stuff from their server.

GAWD! This just burns my innards.

WTF is right...

I am sorry to hear about this Chris.. I would be pissed too....

I hope Canon Europe does the right thing and removes your photos...

I have a friend (that is a website creator) that said you can actually put something in the makeup of your site (per page line command) that disables all copy options on photos and icons...

I can have him send you the information on this if you want to... ?? Just let me know.

to think this could all been solved by the poster putting a link instead to your post and giving you credit.

good luck getting this fixed!

What gets me is the stupidity of the responses. What a bunch of children! You'd think that people -- even pseudo-anonymous folk on the 'net -- would have more sense of (self-)respect.

I think this may be the end of my posting *any* photos to that website. Hopefully the entire thread will get deleted.

Nah thats normal bob, dpreview calls any links to "competition" spam and blocks them.. been this way for a very long time..

And to Codiac - there is nothing more pathetic than people trying to take credit for the efforts of others.. hope he gets banned..

Sorry to say, Kim...while there are ways to make it difficult to "copy/paste" an image from a Web page, it is not possible to keep someone from downloading the image outside the context of the page. (Assuming the Web page is HTML...pdf and flash documents are another matter.) And even images in pdf or flash can be copied using screen capture software such as snag-it.

As for Codiac's issue...Too bad that people can't take their test pictures. Fair use applies if this was a review of his work. If not, it is just plain thievery.

People think that just because an image is on the net, it's fair game

Good luck in getting your images removed, or at least getting the full credit for them.

While I agree the poster should provide link and give credit when posting your images, I wonder how is this post connected to whatever is/might be coming next from Pentax?
This still is a Pentax news and rumors forum right?!

They say they removed them. Make sure you provide them with a link to your original pictures.

Oh nooo...

as soon as I saw this post I linked to the DPreview post....
And just as I was getting to the juicy part (one click away from Codiacs first reply) I dould not accesd the thread anymore.....

Bugger, I wished Phil was not so quick....
Anybody got a link to the Canon pics???
Anybody got a copy of the discussion???
By the way from what I saw A700 and K20D were better than the 40D
