If Pentax is going to answer the Nikon DF campain, then they should answer Nikons: "It's in my hands again." with "It never left my hands."

People do whatever they want to switch D600 or 6D if it fits them better, and usually there is more than one reason (FF) why people switch over to Canikon - (for example, lens selection and AF). OTOH, how many Pentaxians (already a small number) will switch to a Pentax FF just because it is only FF but nothing else? At least, I am not convinced yet for the stuff that I do which is stage photography. If the new Pentax FF is at least a K-3 like and perhaps even than better that, it will get me interested for sure. A me-too or half-baked Pentax FF, thanks but no thanks..

Yup - for me the D600, 24-85, and 1.4x were free when you consider the lens price difference...

I know I would. Right now I would hesitate before advising someone new to photography to get into Pentax - the range of Pentax is limited at the top end.

Part of getting a bigger market share is having professional and aspirational products.

Or, coming at it from a different angle - if you ignore AF, Pentax has the best APS-C cameras on the market, hands down.

Why are they the smallest player? Is it *all* marketing? That seems hard to believe in an internet-based-consumer-world.

No, give us a Nikon DF "me too"!
Seem to be the same size as K-5.
I don't want a "me too" FF. Nor an FF camera designed down to price.

If Ricoh/Pentax launch one, I want it to be a no-compromise camera, priced accordingly.

This is a good industrial design exercise, but try to shoot with Spotmatic or MX. Compare to a modern camera it is soooo unbalanced and uncomfortable, it's not even funny.

Yep, i think what you're referring to is things like molded finger areas and thumb grips on the front and back of some cameras. Looking at the older film cameras, they are beautiful to me, but lack some of the gripping aids that modern plastics/molding procedures have made available.

Where there is a will, there is a way...This is the best-handling camera I own...

If I remember correctly, Mr. Zhou used to make a version for the MX.
