You can go smaller, for example (and that's not the smallest lens):

Only one tiny problem with this comparison: The Sony is FULL FRAME!

"Full frame"; a superlative alternate naming of what's otherwise known as the small format

You forgot the context: a certain somebody claimed that his Sony A7r would fit in his jacket, while a K-mount DSLR would require a big bag. The comparison proves there's no such difference.

I think the point is that once you include a lens, neither camera is pocketable -- both will require some sort of bag/carrying case. Taking away the mirror doesn't really change that fact.

I don't care either way whether either one is pocketable... that said the Pentax doesn't have a fast zoom on it so the comparison linked is not very interesting to me.

Somewhat better...

Compact Camera Meter

Not necessarily. A K- whatever with a 40mm Ltd mounted will fit anywhere that it will fit with no lens.

The Sony didn't had a fast zoom, either.

Put a hood on that 20mm f/2.8, please; the Limited has one

Sorry, my mistake. Thought that was a zoom.

Don't care though. You can put a pancake on either one, and the Sony is clearly smaller.

If you find a pancake 31mm f/1.1 for the K-3 let me know.

Should I remind you of the original claim, which was that one camera fits into a jacket while the other needs a large bag? Or it's pointless to do it?

As long as you let us all know when you find one for the Sony.

If the ideal is a pocket sized camera with DSLR image quality, why isn't everyone celebrating the design marvel that is the GR? It pushes the laws of physics about as far as possible, i think.

To hand-hold a camera with 24+ high quality MP with a sharp stack of glass in front, I want it to have a heavy duty body and built in image stabilization. Something pretty much exactly like the K-3, which I don't own, but am now seriously considering as a step up from my Olympus m4/3 kit.

It's pretty pointless, because I never made that claim. I've also said I don't really care that the Sony is smaller. A few years back, smaller was critical to me - everything had to fit in a pannier.

Nevertheless the Sony is smaller and markedly so.
