Are you sure it's not the red alignment dot for mounting the lens?

Is this one really is WR, DC and also full frame compatible, it might be a real killer later when the body will come.

Compact zoom, limited IQ. Anyone who wants limited or star IQ for landscapes, architecture, or anything not requiring narrow DF in a small package will find this lens useful, maybe even mandatory. If it weren't for the fact that I'm a bit cash strapped right now and that I already own the FA 20-35, I would get this lens the day it came out, and it would immediately become my most used lens in this range. This and the DA 15 could be used for 90%+ of my landscape shots.

I already wish that I'd have enough money for this. If it is great lens, you will see few lenses hitting to marketplace from me. I like to shoot from 20-40 mm. And I hahe few lenses on that range already. I don't mind of moderate speed of this lens. For me it looks good.

Well, no I'm not sure. But I could almost swear .

For me any FF thingy is irrevelant and it is unlikely to be like that IMO. I like this range in APS-C mm.

but probably you can have a feeling of using fa31 and fa43 on one lens, and it's wr...

From the size it is very unlikely to be FF compatible. The DC motor is bigger than traditional AF, and all FF lenses of this range is much bigger (see tokina 20-35 and tamron 17-35.)

And you can add to that list: F 28/2.8, K/A24/.28, FA20/2.8
Oh, and DA 21/3.2

I have Tokina AT-X 235/2.8. And it is great lens. But it is huge. I'd use it more if it was smaller.

So small- how did they get a DC motor in there?
I am skeptical about the DC WR aspects.
Happy to be proven wrong.

I admit I got a little confused when i read this statement.
I figured out you meant "Pentax Limited" IQ, instead of limited IQ (limited IQ meaning that it isnt very good

FA 31 and 43? I doubt that, with a sluggish aperture compare to the FA's, It's only the miniscule size is it's selling point, I wonder if if I should start looking on Fuji for street shooting. :-)

20mm would start at 2.8 and 40mm would start at 4.

I speculate that with the price of this lens you can probably buy a really good fuji

However this lens is like the recent MacPro. Whether the product is relevant / succeeds or not is irrelevant, but it gives me confidence that Ricoh (Apple) can innovate.

Do you mean for street photog? Because 28mm was a common focal length and just about every lens manufacturer had at least one.
