Welcome to Photozone! shows/suggests it can be a problem.
Their review is based on a 2008 model and a K10D.
PF really bugs me.
I have the three-amigos and the 31 PFs at times.
Pisses me off such that I rarely use it.

Purple fringing can be really bad with the DA *200. Maybe I just have a copy that is prone to it, but it seems fine otherwise and is plenty sharp. But I guess I would worry about it, because it is so easy to fix in post.

Well I do carry the K-5 around every day. I usually have one of the DA15, 35 or 70 mounted and the two others in the bag (and occasionally the M-50/1.7).

well i am looking for a replacement for my kit lens.. 16-45, 16-50, 18-135.. I am wondering if they have any deals for these.

Is anyone kinda thinking that amongst all of the K-3 fuss Black Friday might be a swell opportunity to see some serious discounts on K-5ii/K-5iis bodies?

But its not a big upgrade from a K5

If the K3 performs the way its been advertised, than for me the only body to consider would be the K3, however I'd buy a heavily discounted K5 or K5ii (s)

Have you considered a used copy? A lot cheaper as long as you get a good copy..

As for my predictions.. I predict cameras will go on sale for 10-15% off and Pentax Forums will have front page news alerting us to these 'incredible' deals.

you are right.. yesterday i forgot to bid and lost a good copy of 18-135 that was sold for 175$ in ebay

I saw a 16-50mm DA* go for around 380 in mint condition recently on ebay

But more so I don't think 10% off a new item is really convincing for the largest sale time of the year.

I have to agree 100%! Not much of a jump from my k5 but i'll get a ii/iis if it's really good.

I'm ideally looking to get some new good glass this Black Friday, not bodies at all. I've held off on any other purchases for just this.
