Official info about the new 08 wide zoom for Q

??? / Q7 / ??????? / ?? | RICOH IMAGING

I would prefer at least f/2.8, but I suppose Ricoh/Pentax knows best what is selling.

Whoops, that looks like an accidental slip to me! Great to have the specs ahead of time, though

Here's the translated table:

I hoped for something a little wider and a little faster and this is borderline in the diffraction zone of the original and overlaps with the 02 zoom. Not as hyped as before but still interesting.

10 elements, of which 3 glass molded aspherical lenses, in 8 groups, 49mm filter size, 54mm diameter: this is definitely not a toy lens.

Yeah, it looks to be shorter and wider than the 02 or the 06, but also lighter.

Hey, any new lenses for the Q-mount are great to read about! Go go Ricoh!

While I wish it was a faster lens, it looks promising. Hopefully it is as good optically as the 06 zoom as the 02 zoom is mediocre.

As long as it performs better in sharpness and flare compared to the 02 lens, I will get it.

Ah, the GBA-coefficient is high with this one. 01, 06 and 08... is the kind of setup I'd like for the Q

it seems to be a rectilinear lens too. I hope to see its performance on early tests soon! Great to see the Q system still growing.

Are those 35mm equivalent focal length specs for the Q/Q10 or Q7?

And with three lenses the Optio bag won't work any more either. Here we go.

Actual focal lengths and apertures of Pentax-08 Wide Zoom: 3.8-5.9mm f/3.7-4.

17.5-27mm equivalent focal lengths on Q7.
21-32.5mm equivalent focal lengths on Q/Q10.
