Actually a good question. On the other hand, with such a camera two lenses need to be introduced: 24-70mm f2.8, 70-210mm f2.8, and revamped versions of the FA Limiteds.
The DFAs are already there, later you can add maybe a 16-24mm f2.8 zoom or some fast WA-primes.

That's all, with this you give everyone the opportunity to exploit the advantage of the bigger sensor - fast zooms (f"2" on K-3), shallow DOF (f"1.2" 31mm...).

Everything else is better supported by APS-C, larger reach, portability and affordability may not be primary goals, I think this system might gonna cost it's money.

To be truely honest: I'd go with a K-3 with 20-40 ltd instead of a retro Nik0n Df... YMMV
If they do like Fuji, they can introduce the FF camera just with a revamped, HD-WR version of the three FA limited. A camera with a shutter dial like the Nikon DF, BUT with real physical aperture ring on the lenses, something the modern Nikkors lack. Then, later, they could add DFA zooms, if there will be a market for them.

and coupled aperture lever? Un-cripple the K-mount.

What I don't understand about the rumored Pentax FF is: Why are the lenses that they have recently released and are currenlty releasing all DA, and thus FF incompatible? If they are really serious about releasing an FF camera any time in the near future, even if two years away, why then not start introducing DFA's instead? I remain very sceptic.
Because no company in theirright mind would announce such lens without the camera coming with it.
Sony didn't anounced any FE lens before announcing the A7/A7R even though it really wasn't any surprise at all for anyone.

While everyone expects some form of an FF to buy, I really, really want another APS-C body that isn't a typical K-5/K-3 style DSLR. I hope I'm not alone here who wishes the same?
Clearly, anyone who bought a K-01.

Am I reading this right?

Am I understanding that you are saying Ricoh is releasing another APS-C body (not the K-3) with similar specs to the K-3 in a traditionally styled body?

So... Today's Nov 8 here in Asia... What are the surprises, besides the 20-40mm and Q 08 lenses? =)

Since the updated roadmap shows new K-mount gear arriving in 2014 or later, one surprise will need to be "2014 started on 11/1/13" Maybe it's a fiscal-year thing?

Unless they're keeping them for a grand announcement at the Salon, I suspect the surprises will be small and personal (maybe a new leather camera strap). Otherwise, I think we'd have heard by now.

Yeah, imagine that, users that want FF actually sticking around because of those FF compatible lens releases. Who wants that? No they should surely wait until all users that are left are absolutely not interested in any FF system.

The Pentax-FF-cat is out of the bag anyway: they officially confirmed to be developing it. So showing some FF-ready lenses would only add (the much needed) credit to that statement. Actions do speak louder then words. And with those lenses being compatible with with the APS-C K-mount anyway...

Don't compare it to Sony. From Sony FE system rumor to fruition took slightly over a year! They do what they promiss.

Think what you want, you're wrong. NO company would do such a thing.

...They did exactly that. They already released some DFA's a while ago! And they didn't die from that at all. But back then it was the other way round. They were releasing FF lenses, but confirmed officially not to be developing an FF camera.
