That's true for now, yes. But per EU Directive 2011/65/EU ("RoHS II"), the exemption lasts only until July 2016. Following that date individual exemptions would need to be applied for and (hopefully!) approved, but AFAIK that process isn't playing out yet, and I don't know if applications will be considered unless/until it looks like the exemption actually will end. The EU intends to review these exemptions from time to time, but I don't know what the current status of that effort is.
In the meantime no sane manufacturer would commit to manufacturing with this kind of uncertainty. And it's a supply chain problem -- even if Pentax thought it would be hunky-dory to sell only until 2016, they would probably have difficulty obtaining lead glass blanks.
This is all pretty dumb.
