Samsung's price striking is started.

Samsung droping GX-20 prices at their Samsung group employees only mall.

GX-20 + 18-55 + 50-200 is about $1015 at Samsung employee only mall.

In South Korea, many shops selling same composition about $1440.(lowest price)

and body only $1217.

Likely GX-1S, GX-10..

first, GX-20 will drop more price at employees mall,

second, TV-shoping price and off-line mall price will drop like first.

K20D price will follow..

Samsung steady do this at GX-1S, GX-1L, GX-10, and now GX-20.

Samsung's new body will show up...

I really hope Samsung will come out with a GX-21, 30x20mm sensor =1.2x crop, 21Mpix (same density/ISO performance as current K20D sensor) giving top resolution 5700x3800; licensed Nik*n's AF system or some equivalent, selling around $1,500. It'd be a killer body

Samsung is not into lens business so don't worry about making new lenses for it; we will use existing DA and FA lenses just fine.

How can I start a petition to Samsung?

What's the point in prices dropping in Korea ? The camera is not even on sale here. There was a loud roar about the low pricing of the gx-20 that would eat up Pentax income from k20-d sales. But it looks like the gx-20 is a local market item, even more local than the gx-10 ever was.
If I look at the prices Pentax has reached a sort of stable price level at this moment. The only camera starting to stirr up the prices is the 40d. With rebates included here it sells at roughly 20% below the k20d. Sofar, the k20d is 'in stock' almost everywhere. Quite different from the k10d, which was sold out more frequently during its first 3-6 months.

the one thing NONE OF US KNOW is the manufacturers cost to produce these cameras.

for all we know, their profit margins could be huge even at 900 or 800 dollars.
