Can someone explain what happens when you put this between a (hypothetical) FF body and a DA crop lens like the DA21?
If you put this on a FF with a DA21/3,2 you'll have exactly a 29,4/4,48. I don't see any interest to have a 30mm F/4,5 on a fullframe body. I'd buy a cheaper M28/3,5 and surely would have a better image quality.

Sign me up too. I have drawn a line in the sand that the DA*300 is the biggest lens I will own - this would give me a perfect autofocus intermediary before putting it on the Q7.

It would also make the DA*55 into a full frame 77mm f/2. Oh, hang on, we already have one of them....
And it would make the FA31 into a 43mm. Oh, wait.
DA15 becomes a 21mm too. Is anyone noticing a pattern?

can't wait to see the price on this, pretty sure it will price way too high.

If it can make manual lens do a little AF like the 1.7x, this will be interesting.

I can't see that happening, but if it does, look out!

Thanks for the explanations. It looks like it would make far more sense to upgrade to a better APS-C camera or get a full frame lens at the desired goal length. I only asked because it had never occurred to me to use a televonverter for this purpose.

I was thinking the same and wonder how it will be on screwdrive lenses, but it might be pretty quick on 70-200mm 2.8 Sigma?
I hope it will work fine with my FA*300 f2.8 - fingers crossed.

Lol, Nearly missed the humour there.
Don't worry folks the photos are completely different, just look at the lighting reflection, grooving, slight rotation in the old photo, ect!

FYI, it turns out the source was here, not DPR, so I've updated your post. Just want to make sure the right person is credited. May be worthwhile getting that member to post in this thread.
I have the original file that was sent to me by a friend at Pentax. As I know this person for a long time I highly doubt he would fool me. I personalty do not have or use PS. So my PS skills are zero.

From the Exif: FileSource - DSC - Digital still camera, SceneType - A directly photographed image.
Exif also shows: Software - Adobe Photoshop CS6 (Windows), which isn't unusual for a marketing picture and would explain the obviously (?) photshoped "HD".

Of course I don't know for 100% if this product will hit the streets. I have heard about several products from Pentax in advance that were pulled last minute or were announced a lot later than expected.

I hope it will come true. As many others here, I am very interested in this TC. Let's wait and see.

Adam, if you want I can send you the original file.

I would love to have this to use with my DA *200. I usually don't want more length than that, but it would be nice to have the TC in the photo bag, just in case.
