Image of HD Pentax 1.4x Teleconverter

Someone in another thread has posted a picture of what looks to be the long awaited 1.4x teleconverter. It appears to have screw drive and SDM contacts. It also has the AW designation.

It looks like a legitimate PR shot to me.

HD DA 1.4X AW AF Rear Convertor

AW: All Weather???

can't really tell if there is a ring around the edges made of rubber.

looks the piece anyway ^^

bugger just went through the posts from the site.
and the HD does seem not to be on the same level as the rest of the text...

If it's a fake, it's a nice fake, somebody went through a lot of work to present this ^^

I also like asahi mans comment in the dpr tread:

Yes,it is the current product picture of the fullframe converter.

Maybe I will check it with DA*300,DA 560 and a Telezoom in 2 Weeks

Wouldn't it be great if the converter had a o-ring on the lens mount surface? It would make all old lenses semi-WR.

The image was first posted here.

I wouldn't bother with the "it's fake, pixels don't match" nonsense.

of course, after all the TC rumor is almost as old as the FF one. I just hope that they get it on the shelves before my next birding trip ^^

All those acronyms certainly sound nice (HD, AF.. AW!). Hope its not a hoax, its been a long time since a TC was first promised

Looks awesome, but I don't think it would have an O-ring on the lens side. If it did, it would be difficult for AW lenses to seat their own O-rings to the mount.

I will buy this as soon as it is released. But I won't hold my breath for a release date. It will likely be expensive.

Based on the fact that the entire Pentax World want to buy one ( that works with SDM) ....is it not good commercial sense from Pentax/Ricoh to supply demand ...and make a killing at the same time ?
