Three rumors of new Ricoh Pentax products in CP+ 2014

While the net is overwhelmed by Fujifilm's X-T1 release, someone on China's xitek.com posted these two Pentax rumors:

1) Ricoh Pentax K-60 (credibility: 37%)
24MP APS-C CMOS sensor without LPF
11 AF points, three of which support -3EV AF capability
29K-pixel RGB metering
100K shutter lifecycle
PRIME III processor (Same as K-3)
100% pentaprism optical view finder
Light-weight and weather-sealed design
Body available in multiple colors
Support NFC and Wifi
MSRP: USD$699.00

2) HD Pentax-DA135-380mm f/4-5.6 ED [IF] DC WR (credibility: 65%)

3) HD Pentax-DA18-70mm f/2.8-4.5 AL [IF] DC WR (credibility: 51%)

The guy posted the rumors claimed that these came from some pentax rumors website, but as fas as I know no such rumors exist
yet on the net. Given the fact that K-50 is barely one-year old (released in 6/12/2013, according to dpreview.com), I don't think these
are plausible rumors though.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a K-50 replacement because the K-50 is really just a minor restyling of the 18 month old K-30. I would be REALLY surprised to see it at that price point.

I would guess it is going to be 12 bit sensor with LPF instead of sensor shake AA. It probably wouldn't have the same processor or at least not as speedy, probably a Prime M+ (which might really be a Prime III-). This would let them take advantage of binning processors and sensors which weren't quite up to K-3 standards.

Based on the sustained efforts by major retailers like BhPhoto and Adorama clearing their K5iis stock I am inclined to believe a new mid range Dslr model will be unveiled soon. Is it the K60? God knows....

I'd be really surprised to see it with those specs. Built in WiFi and NFC, when their just released flagship DSLR doesn't even have that? (Support for the Pentax-oriented flucard, maybe. But built in, assuming that's what they mean by "support"? Just not seeing it.)

That's an odd focal range, but if true - I WANT IT.

Let's see... Pentax came out with the K50 a year after the K30, and the K-3 a year after the K-5 IIs. Maybe Ricoh is gonna refresh their product line annually like Canikon? If so the rumored K50 refresh wouldn't be all that surprising.

It ending 380 I mean, the 135mm short end is fine by me.

And a K50 refresh, if for no other reason than to bring their mid-range dslr up to 24 megapixels would make sense. I know the megapixel wars are pretty much over, but the K50 and the K500 are the only current dslrs with a sensor less than 18 mp. I know full well that bumping the megapixels wouldn't necessarily make the cameras or their images better, but a lot of first time buyers and novices automatically correlate the higher mp counts with better images. Such people are the market for the K500 and some of the market for the K50.

Volume breakpoints on the Sony 24Mp sensor + feature advantage in the mid-range camera. Interesting combination of K50 and K3 components.

K500 is EU/US only, so who knows what happens with entry level.

It's basically the APS-C equivalent of the FA* 250-600 (202-560).

It will have to be a large and expensive lens, unless the aperture is more like 4.5-6.7. Even then I'm sure it will be expensive...

Perhaps I can sell a kidney to a Chinese organ dealer...

K600
K60 and a KL retro style
Le prochain reflex Pentax sera rétro.
