The Chasseurs d'Images rumor gave me a healthy portion of laughter! (This isn't the OP's rumor, which came from a Chinese website.)

The first line of the post in question is, "Sous ce temps gris je joue à Elizabeth fille de madame Soleil. " -- which means, roughly, "On this gray day I'm playing with Elizabeth, Mrs Soleil's daughter." The guy is looking into Mrs Soleil's crystal ball...

Obviously, most of you have no idea who Mrs Soleil was. Take a look here:

http://www.nytimes.com/1996/10/30/world/madame-soleil-astrologer-83.html
QuoteQuote:
Madame Soleil, a popular astrologer whose forecasts were broadcast across France and who reputedly advised President Francois Mitterrand, died on Sunday, associates said on Monday. She was 83.
Born Germaine Soleil on July 18, 1913, in the Loire Valley, she began her career at a wooden carnival stall and later opened an office in Paris, where she was a frequent guest on television talk shows.
In 1970 she began a call-in astrology show on Europe 1 and quickly became so famous that President Georges Pompidou once joked at a news conference, ''I'm not Madame Soleil.''
''She was very discreet about who her clients were,'' said Jean-Jacques Lachaud, an editor at Europe 1 radio, ''but had many people from the political world, actors, theater people, the world of finance.''

If it weren't for odd focal lengths, would Pentax make any lenses at all?

Some of us know precisely who Mrs. Soleil's daughter is. Such a misdirection is part of the drip recipe in viral release marketing. They must do something to counter the X-T1.

I know the megapixel wars are pretty much over, but the K50 and the K500 are the only current dslrs with a sensor less than 18 mp.
Yet Fuji has announced the X-T1 with a 16mp sensor.

Pentax has a lot to catch up, if they want to be a major player. Of course, K-5 siblings are good cameras, but the market don't wait. And if they want to grow, must release new cameras, with new sensors in the hole range, not only a flagship to attract new consumers. And I saw a lot of new members coming to this forum, every day, many of then, new to DSLR field, others coming back to Pentax.

Still, nobody know for sure what is coming this year, or even at CP+. But I hope it will be 4 cameras, five updated lenses, and 3 totally new ones this year.

K-L may as well be the internal codename.
Real marketing name may turn out to be something else.
But it will most likely have a K letter in it, to clearly state camera uses and supports the K-mount lenses. Coming in two versions (silver and black) somewhat confirms that the HD DA Limited range was deliberately made in silver too, to be used with that camera. That also means Ricoh Imaging has high hopes for it.
Expect the smaller form factor than the K-3, but the same size OVF.

Thought we are talking about the rumored KL, but somehow it sounds like Ricoh Pentax (RP) is really gonna release a retro style K-mount DSLR. Am I too optimistic?

If KL is true, I just hope that RP won't make it a Pentax version of Nikon Df, which honestly speaking looks awful to me. (I'm sorry if you have a Df).

Hardly that bad.

The K-L will be made for DA lenses, especially the Limiteds, which all have electronically controlled aperture. The maximum I suspect we'll see a mode dial on top, plus (maybe!) the eV compensation dial. Dual control wheels as usual and the K-3-like buttons placement. On board flash too.

I actually would rather prefer a normal quick glance LCD on top and clean look, with no comp dial at all — if the metering is as good as on the K-3, who really cares.

Pentax modes such as TAv would be a nightmare to use with real dials like Fuji's or Nikon's Df. Forget it — we have crossed that bridge and old school dials aren't necessary at all, as they would not work as everyone would expect them to work.

So, what if they announce the 645DII and... wait for it...... wait for it (and I am surprised NO ONE has mentioned it) a full frame?

Also, if they were to release a rebranded Tamron 150-600 with weather seals for 1250 wouldn't that be kinda cool?

Well, here comes another rumor from the same guy:

HD Pentax-DA18-70mm f/2.8-4.5 AL [IF] DC WR (credibility 51%)
Original post

Is this one on Ricoh-Pentax's lens roadmap?

Ricoh Pentax Lens Line Up

The bottom part of the line up (2014 and later) has
1) 3 DA zooms in the range 10-30mm, 15-85mm, and 150-350mm.
2) HD Pentax-DA AF RC 1.4x

We just saw leaked photos of the 1.4X extender.
The rest of them (except the 10-30mm) look very much like tthe rumored 18-70mm and 135-380mm zooms....hmm.
