To tell the truth if they do a weather sealed K60 with no AA filter and the same sensor as the K3 then why would anyone buy a K3 when you can get 90% of one at 1/2 the price?

IF there is a K-60 that is a de-contented K-3, I would expect the differences to be:

No selectable AA filter
Single memory card slot
Polycarbonate body
Smaller buffer
Not sure about the same shutter mechanism (K-3, 5 much quieter than K-r, 30, 50)

This would still make an outstanding camera but if the above are important, you will have good reasons to buy a K-3.

Yes... those, too. Basically, I wouldn't be surprised to see a K-60 that incorporates the 24 MP sensor, advanced metering, and improved focusing from the K-3. The metering would finally allow Pentax/Ricoh to get the p-TTL exposure problem behind them across the line (if it goes to a K-500 successor, too).

If it comes in at the price stated and carries over some of the K_3 functions it will look really attractive against Cannikon. I am not sure I will wait to see before I pull the trigger on a K-3 but if it is announced before I have I will at least consider it. It will leave a lot of money for other toys.

Would love to see a top lcd un k60 apart from all the other features its gonna come with. That feature alone is a preserve of top models from canikony.

I dropped my K1000 once. Didn't damage the camera, but it did dent the filter ring of the 80-200 that was on it. I have never repeated that mistake.

Pentax rumours are the best! Of course the K-60 will beat them all — every single rumoured Pentax camera has amazing specs and beats every other contender.

No new rumors on the K-60 front for the past few days. Though one of the arguments that Pentax needs an announcement to counter expected announcements from Canon and Nikon makes sense.

Pentax was slow, and remains slow. Their cautiousness and conservatism border with irrational.
They can never match Nikon’s or Canon’s manoeuvrability and pace. Nor Fujifilm's spark and enthusiasm.

Fortunately, Pentax also cannot match Nikon's and Canon's penchant for making DSLRs that make no sense and have no inherent value.

But Pentax have to compete on some level. I wonder what their break even point is for a camera like the K-3? Does Ricoh break out profit for the Pentax brand? It would be interesting to see if it makes them money and if it does where it stands with other Ricoh businesses.
