The bigger question is can Olympus make and release a telephoto prime in micro 4/3 mount? Currently, they have none.
Now, I don't really care what Olympus does though I really love their lenses. I have already turned to the bright side not the dark side. I have always thought of investment in photographic gears as something I can grow into. I buy cameras, lenses and other gears and hopefully upgrade in the system as the years go by. Olympus simply killed 4/3 and I really don't like to go into something that they offer. EM-1 is a good camera but m4/3 is not my thing. I wish them success.

Now I'm with Pentax and I hope they'll will keep us happy by keeping the K-mount alive.

new dslr's not welcome!!!
I too am waiting for a new K-01. I love my current one but would love to see how they plan to update it. Though it was a flop to many people, it was surely a hit with me. I completely believe it was made for the da limiteds and with a lens line like that, it makes complete sense to me to have a compact-er system. I have handled the Fuji X-Pro system and personally enjoy the pentax lens system more.

So, yes. A new K-01!!!!

Well, we still have no specific information about the new 645D up until now, though almost one month has passed since CP+. Hopefully, Pentax is doing a final touch on it.

Vendors are dumping the current 645D. One shop in Japan recently sold it for $5000, nearly half of the initial price. Of course, it's brand new, not used. Another shop I often visit is now selling the current 645D with 55mm f2.8 for $6000. Could be the best time to go for the digital medium format.

Yes, the Hasselblad H5D 40MP is only 16,000 euro... that Pentax is outrageously expensive!

I think they should just give all their DSLRs the ability to shoot in "mirrorless mode" instead of "Liveview." I don't see any reason why a DSLR shouldn't work just as well as a MILC when the mirror flips up. If they do that and really put the screws to mirrorless companies, then the major differences would be the cost difference between an OVF and an EVF (where I think OVF would win at least for now), performance wise would be the difference between an OVF and an EVF (again OVF wins), battery performance (another win for DSLR), and ergonomics because the difference in size would still be a factor but that is more personal because many people like the handling of a DSLR sized camera especially with large fast glass vs MILC.

I'm not sure if I would like a mirror less camera since I haven't tried using a camera like the EM-1. In the event that Pentax is going to go mirror less, I wish that the use of our current APS-C lenses will not be compromised (such as speed focusing or the need to have adapters to make the lenses function as it should).

As of now, I'm happy with my K-5II as it is. If I have some extra cash, I would like to have another one.

Pentax was badly burned on the K-01. It will still be a few years before they try another large sensor mirrorless.

If someone could ever have access to the real coporate internal history K-01 would be a fascinating Case Study for an advanced Product Management seminar.

Instead of listening to in-house designers and outside consulting experts, why oh why don't they listen to we the people who use Pentax????

I'll put on my cynic's hat for this one. K-01 design strategy:

1) Start with stock entry DSLR
2) Remove mirror
3) Remove pentaprism (doesn't work without mirror anyway)
4) Hire a known designer to make the best of what's left

The guy posted the rumors claimed that these came from some pentax rumors website, but as fas as I know no such rumors exist
yet on the net. Given the fact that K-50 is barely one-year old (released in 6/12/2013, according to dpreview.com), I don't think these
are plausible rumors though.
Where is the 10-600 f/1.2 Macro zoom?
