But thanks for the heads up!

I keep my eyes open and watch for limited clearances, weight restrictions and such. The last thing I want to do is make that phone call to the Mother Ship explaining why they may need a new driver.

Oh, and another $150,000 truck.

Truck drivers fit into one of two very distinct groups. Severely antisocial, and severely needful of human interaction. And when they congregate on a forum things get weird.
I don't think this characterization is limited to truck drivers.

Q: How many programmers does it take to change a light bulb?

A: None. Can't be done. That's a hardware problem.

I think I average about 80 posts a YEAR, some of these people are posting 80 times a DAY.

I either need a new job or a personal assistant to compete with that...

Reading & learning is the point, but contests encourage people to come out of lurkdom & partcipate.

Or, in the case of this contest, throw as many comments as possible at the wall and hope enough stick.

I'm sure some would rather spend time explaining/helping/critiquing in a few threads than blasting as many comments as they can. Quality vs Quantity.. (I should point out that this isn't aimed at anyone in particular)

Certainly. But in this particular contest, simple post quantity isn't sufficient. You must also have enough substance in at least 20% of your daily posts that for someone else to *like* them. Granted, I'm freely liking people's posts & I'm sure there's at least one or two others who are as well. But that's not enough. Looking at the contest standings for the last few days, I can see several users who posted up a storm, but didn't get enough liked posts to do much.

Lurkdom.

I like it!

To put a positive spin on the flurry of activity during this Post~A~Thon, it gives members a chance to get to know each other a bit better.

Because it gets them to come out of Lurkdom!
