I think they do because I am the one who "liked" that post. I am just happy to see more people come out of the shadows like i did.

If you are wanting to get somewhere with your work, but are having difficulty getting there.. then sometimes it is valuable to have others take a look at it and share their thoughts on how they think to get there. They may be accurate and they may not be.. but maybe the knowledge shared on the forum will help others too. Just don't know until you do..

It isn't like this is a contest (outside of the contests haha).. it is an artform.. and, for me, a clean, safe outlet that allows me to express what or Whom is inside me.

Don't be so afraid to grow that you don't.

Most folks aren't posting their images just to impress others. Either its a simple expression of sharing, or a desire for feedback. A few also do a really good job of story telling by linking images together. Most of my image posts are of experiments I've tried that worked far better than they should have, even if the final images still aren't what I'd call fantastic. I don't worry about comparing with what other people have achieved. I have little time to take photos, and even less to process them. Photographing architecture doesn't appeal to me, nor am I likely to do astrophotography any time soon. So I enjoy seeing when others take those sorts of photos

So before the next contest is conceived, go ahead and challenge yourself just to post a few pictures.
