Not sure about actual cable releases. Hopefully someone here more knowledgeable about those will answer. However, I will say all of the modern Pentax cameras support remote control. That and, in the pinch, you can set your camera to the 2 second timer and use that if concerned about shaking the camera while on a tripod... that is typically what I do anyways even though I own one of the remotes..

Using the timer has the additional advantage of turning off SR automatically, so you don't have to remember/bother doing it manually.

From what i can tell, it looks like a contestant interested in qualifying for at least one winning daily ticket, needs to make 9 meaningful posts an hour for 10 hours and then get at least 5 likes. takes a bit of work and thought , but apparently it is possible.

No. As the contest has continued, the average daily has fallen. The lenses are part of the raffle portion of the contest. You only need one raffle entry to have a chance of winning a lens. The choice winner will be the person with the highest total raffle entries. The remaining two lenses will be randomly awarded to users drawn from the remaining raffle entries.

The current overall average is about 34 points in order to get a raffle ticket. You need at least 31 posts & 3 likes to get 34 points. Although, 3 likes is good for up to 35 posts, so you could get 38 points for those same three likes.

All you really need is at least one raffle entry.
