Yes, don't Nikon and Canon also have maximum apertures of the mother lens to ensure proper Auto focus with a tc?
I will be looking out for first user reports with the Sigma 500/4.5, which is just outside of maximum aperture, but should be ok, although AF is really critical at 700mm...

Promising. All the SDM lenses look fine, so that's good.
Hopefully some field reviews and optical tests will be online soon.

I'd take the "could be" as "hey, let's cover our asses". I would think that the k-3 would be ok with the teleconverter and the HD560, but I would assume something like the k-r or the k-5 would perform suboptimally. Which would be expected.
