My setup with a Kenko 1.5x and the 150-500 so I would be surprised it this doesn't.

I tested with my Sigma 70-200 OS and the combo would not AF reliably.
Manually focused shots had good IQ.

Will try this week with the 50-500 OS and report back.

The 50-500mm OS is the same as the 70-200mm. I have tried it on both and it's very erratic.
Not bad on the 100-300mm f4 though.

maybe a sigma firmware aupdate might fix that ? like with the K5 and the contrast AF back when it came out ?

Btw i think pentax is unable to produce enough TCs. One day ago B&H showed it as in Stock ( and i checked again earlier this day) and when i got there it was sold out !

It looks like this thing really is a cashcow for pentax

And in addition to that they will have a perfect estimate how many people are interested in longer focal length

YES and after 'on order' 3 weeks from Amazon.de still no idea when they will be in stock again, maybe as they have the best price anywhere for these..€399 I mean about 4 yr wait and they can't produce enough, you'd think they have some idea how much demand there would be

Tested yesterday with 50-500 OS and I got same results as Mike.P

Kinda disappointed but I can live with it. Manual focus IQ is good.

I also tested with DA*50-135 and it does AF pretty well but not as reliably as the DA*300.
This TC really seems to have been designed with the 300 in mind

The converter harms also very perfectly with the DA*200/2.8

I've read that it is a 4:3 lens design (4 lenses in 3 groups). But has anyone seen a lens diagram? I checked at Diminitrovs K-mount page, but he doesn't have it yet.

my test with the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 HSM II is like the other people, unable to find focus (very fast movement, but not focus at all)

I just received my 1.4 TC and tried it on my DA* 300 and DA* 50-135. Both produce excellent images, strong contrast, sharp, great colors. The 50-135 is super sharp, and the TC will really extend the use of this lens for me.

Great purchase.

Just got my TC from Amazon.de after 2 month wait..good price €345 ex tax
1st try with 70mm 2.4 limited which works well,a couple shots below.OOC jpegs no sharpening..but main use will be on DA300,as it focus' much better than my AF 1.7,and resolution is the same I find,ie no degradation

Just got mine delivered an hour ago and have had a quick play during lunch.

Looks to work good on my DA*16-50 and DFA100 Macro, f stop and focal length are reported correctly (f2.8 = f4.0 and 100mm = 140mm), it also focuses fine with my Sigma 8-16 HSM but does not multiply the f stop and focal length (as stated in loads of places).

However!! I also have the original Sigma EX APO 70-200 f2.8 (screw drive) lens, with the 1.4x attached to a K3 the f stop and focal length are reported correctly in the exif, 70=98; 200=280 and f2.8=f4.0.

Will have a better look this evening just to make sure I've got it right.
