It doesn't gnaw at my gut, make me grind my teeth, give me a Love/Hate relationship with my K-lenses like I had before. If they bring it - maybe I'll buy one, maybe I won't. Maybe I'll buy new lenses, maybe I won't...
I agree with that thought as well. But let us not be foolish to dismiss the idea that Pentax did not lose a valuable and important layer of users, and self-esteem, during the last several years because it was unable to provide a level of an experience in between the ever-cheaper APS-C, and the 645.

That gap needs to be bridged somehow, and if Ricoh has a plan, I’m quite keen to listen to it. For an entity that had defined the 35mm standard and became a legend, Pentax cannot stay shy and away from it. It has a commitment, and a duty, and people will welcome it.

Their foray into the 35mm digital users will accept differently, and from what I see many are and always were subconsciously expecting from Pentax something entirely different than what Nikon or Canon can imagine. Something that breaks the mould, something that is exciting, something with purpose.

That is the strength Pentax has — a considerable amount on users’ emotive bank account. It is time Pentax cashes in on that.

A Pentax without a pentaprism? Wouldn't that be an "Ax"?

On screen the difference can be seen. On a print, the grain appear different, but the noise isn't more visible, at least on a 20cm*30cm

Woa, they could really do all kinds of cool logos with the letters "Ax".

It's almost obvious. They could go for *Ax. Or Ax-ist, perhaps.

It's a dream, but I dream to a FF Pentax camera system becoming a PentAx for competitors

This is good* because it opens up an entire world of possible ax-istential puns.

Do YOU Ax-ist?

The K-3 is more affordable for many. It should be less than $2K with wonderful quality.
My answer was in relation to FF vs MF, you're comparing FF with APS-C. That's a whole different comparison and I think some people would pay 3-5K for a FF system rather than an APS-C system while most are fine with APS-C, that's why APS-C outsells FF at about 10 to 1 still. But as I said, that wasn't the comparison.

A good K-3 system would cost more than $3K I think. I'm saying good, not just a K-3 with the 18-135... I'm thinking DA*16-50 plus DA*50-135.

I agree with you completely. I just want to add that they better do it soon, because the generation that has emotional ties to the Pentax name will be gone in a few years!

Higher Iso noise is no failure of K3, merely a characteristic of the sensor.
BTW I suppose, other cameras using those APS24Mpix sensors are no failure but only the K3 is?
Give me a break.

I've actually yet to see a bad rant about the K-3 from Canikon users in my area who have seen and tried one. Only Pentaxians..who know its "weaknesses" lol

this year's Photokina sure is exciting. I wonder if the roadmap will change again...

Yes, higher ISO noise of K-3 is not a failure. My choice of words was wrong. Or, maybe was a failure compared with some users expectations. and I've read quiet a lot about this. Even here, on this forum. And was one of the two main reasons I've chose to buy a K-5 IIs in this spring. So, sorry if I've hurt someone feeling, but this is the impression I had reading this forum, mostly. If it's not OK to talk about this, I will take in consideration in the future.

Maybe Canikon users know the failures of theirs cameras. And judging by some other forums, the situations is the same there.

At the bottom. Listed as * Tele-Zoom with a vague line running from just after 70mm to just before 200mm. Could just as easily be 73mm to 182mm or any other focal length combo you want.
