Everything Pentax "must" be a rebadge Tamron, these days. Because Pentax, unlike Tamron, were never known for their quality optics Come on, Pentax only needs Tamron for the cheap low-end stuff they can't be bothered to design themselves. I can imagine Pentax (Ricoh Imaging now) engineers saying: "another cheap, slow superzoom? Eww... can't we just rebadge a Tamron? I'd rather work at a Limited/* lens..."
Hello Kunzite. So.... here we are: DFA 24-70, presented as rebadged Tamron lens !

roadmap updated

btw the roadmap is actually updated with a picture of the 24-70/2.8 which is now moved from future product to the D FA group of lenses. No other changes I've spotted.

For the sake of accuracy, my comment was in response to "70-200mm tele must be a rebadge Tamron."
And FTR, I'm still a bit upset about the rebadge stuff, not about the price though

Don't be upset: a $1,299, f/2.8 constant aperture kit lens means the future 24x36 DSLR will be a beast.

And the $2,599 HD Pentax-D FA★ 24-60mm f/2.4 ED DC AW is still to be announced .

Hey, that's only 13x more expensive than my Sigma 24-60 f/2.8, but I guess it is half a stop faster. Yeah, I think I'll pass.

Sigma has a patent and has been working on a 24-70 F/2.0. Maybe we see a HD D-FA* 24-70mm F/2.0 SDM AW.

that would be nice,a new partnership. But in contrast with Tamron (where Hirakawa Jun now works), Pentax doesn't have a collaboration history with Sigma... Not yet, at least.

At least the optical formula of Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 75mm f/1.8 corresponds to that of a Sigma patent.

Sigma patent:

Olympus lens:

It's also Sigma that designed and patented the optical formulas of (Panasonic) Leica D Summilux 25mm f/1.4 (4/3 mount) and (Panasonic) Leica DG Summilux 25mm f/1.4 Asph (µ4/3 mount).
