You only need 5 lenses, and yes it would be a specialty camera. MF is already a specialty format. Not every format needs to have the same lens range as 135. MF film range finders are still in production, and a few years ago I knew a couple of wedding professionals who used them for most of their work. Not every photographer is a spray & pray shooter with a bag of 100 lenses.
I would disagree that MF doesn't benefit for removing the mirror. MF has the most to gain. People using MF don't need 10 FPS with super fast AF-C. I have 5 lenses for my Contax 645 and I really don't need more than 3 for 95% of my work.
People need to stop being Luddites.
