I'm sure that SDM/ring motor + SR in lens + making it AW is putting some weight on that ZOOM. + that nobody seems to know how wide/fast it is. That should be speculated more. but you are right one KG is quite much. almost as much as fast 18-35/1.8 zoom from Sigma.

Which is equivalent to 45-85mm f/4.5 in DFA 645 terms or 35-70mm f/3.5 in DA 645 terms.

Oh wow! Seems like Pentax is really back in the game again. These are very good developements. Hmmm... If I had saved all the money I've spent on all those other lenses and cameras, then I (maybe) could have bought into this system. Best not to think about such things.

The upcoming Pentax 645D medium format camera is rumored to have the same 50MP Sony made CMOS sensor found in the recently announced Hasselblad H5D-50c and PhaseOne IQ250 models. In addition, the new 645D will most likely have video recording capabilities.

I guess Pentax original intention was to upgrade toward a full frame sensor as soon as possible, being the new lenses all fullframe. But they have to go to the best deals in sensors, and a Sony made CMOS I guess it's cheaper and better supported than some Dalsa or Truesense CCD done in little numbers.

PhaseOne's "full frame" 645 backs starts from 30.000 euro. Pentax can do it cheaper (sharing expenses with large volume APS-C helps), but how much cheaper?

I've held it at Photokina, and I've held the 645D as well. Smallish? It's not as deep/square-ish as the 645D, but otherwise it's equally as large.

44X33mm sensors are rather common in MF digital backs, Full frame 645 is somewhat of a niche area. Mostly due to the steep increase in cost - not only in the camera but also on lenses that have decent edge-to-edge image quality.

Considering that the linked images show the slide copier attached to a 645d, has anyone confirmed that this thing will work with the K mount cameras?

For all of those saying that this might make a great alternative to a scanner, the additional $5k+ for a camera body to use with it might temper enthusiasm a bit.

It's just a bellow, you can put a Q behind it. The question is how much it will cost, and, if you have not 6x7 slides to reproduce, if it's not better to buy an old bellow with repro accessory on the bay.
