Looks great, but expensive.

How about that tilting screen. That's a real photo-beginners-item I guess.

Waist-level viewing is an MF tradition:

What are the dimensions of this sensor compared to the current 645d sensor? I was under the impression that is is larger while still be slightly cropped.

So will you have to mount the copier to a board or something to keep it from falling over? Or will they be selling a special mount for it separately?

44X33mm sensors are rather common in MF digital backs, Full frame 645 is somewhat of a niche area. Mostly due to the steep increase in cost - not only in the camera but also on lenses that have decent edge-to-edge image quality.
To say honest, digital MF cameras are not rigidly bound with 56*41.5 mm film size.

Crop-factor is just for convenience of lens angle's understanding. I would say that 44*33 mm is digital standart for MF cameras.
There are 2 sensors almost 56*41.5 mm (53.7*40.4 - 80 MP and 53.9*40.4 mm - 60 MP), but expensive and it's rather special.

44*33 mm CMOS sensor could be more advanced than the same size CCD. And it could be much better in terms of noise than 60 and 80 MP CCD sensors.

Is noise and low light really a concern with MF cameras? I thought they were primarily used for more landscape or studio type purposes.

The new line of "compact" medium format cameras. Not exactly pocketable, but close...

It is actually far more serious than the lack of FF in K-mount. There are fewer lenses for 645 with the risk of making your lens collection awkward with a cropped sensor. In addition, there is the wide angle issue: the 25mm weights in excess of 1kg and costs $5000 - both factors makes it totally uninteresting for me. I'm not willing to carry this sort of bulk and weight, in addition to a large and heavy camera + the other lenses, not to mention the cost.

BTW I have a 645NII with four lenses: 33-55, 75, 120 Macro and the 150-300. I don't use it but I'm definitely interested in the 645 digital system. Too expensive so far....
The new zoom lens might solve your 5K issue but it will probably still be heavy.

meanwhile banks are being robbed in proximity to many Pentax enthusiasts in anticipation of the new 645D camera system. 35mm Full Frame grumblings have been replaced with 6x4.5mm grumblings. chaos ensues. riots erupt in the streets. all footage captured on a "full frame" Q7.

Actually an aps-c sensor would fit in the q-mount.
