It looks like the delete/trash button.
Indeed, that is the function of the Red Dot button.

When the camera is in Play Mode.

And when the camera is in Shooting/Live View Mode, its function is "small piece of black tape"

Oh, if you press it does it automatically cover up the RICOH logo on the camera?

If this thing is video optimized, and even remotely marketed, it should make a huge splash on the filmmaking scene. Three would essentially be no competition, and tiger its a nice catalogue of manual focus lenses that would be great for video. I am crossing my fingers that they have taken video seriously this time. I would love to shoot with it, if that were the case. Fingers crossed!

The first company that deletes the mirror-box on a MF camera will strike gold. Look at how much space is used for the box and prism.

i don't think so.
Mirrorless compacity would only be effective for a very short range of focals.
Opérability of MF would not improve, nor ergonomics.

I think mirrorless MF is a good idea. However i don't think they should reduce the size. I can't stand small mirrorless cameras with large lenses. It just feels badly balanced.

Well, it already is an issue (moderate) for mirrorless APS and an issue (real) for mirrorless FF.
For MF or bigger...

What I was replying to, (comparatively) big lens on small body.

Mamiya 215220 7 II Medium 6x7 Rangefinder Value Pack 215-220

You only need 5 lenses, and yes it would be a specialty camera. MF is already a specialty format. Not every format needs to have the same lens range as 135. MF film range finders are still in production, and a few years ago I knew a couple of wedding professionals who used them for most of their work. Not every photographer is a spray & pray shooter with a bag of 100 lenses.

I would disagree that MF doesn't benefit for removing the mirror. MF has the most to gain. People using MF don't need 10 FPS with super fast AF-C. I have 5 lenses for my Contax 645 and I really don't need more than 3 for 95% of my work.

People need to stop being Luddites.

It's mainly older people that want big DSLRs in 2014 and many want the much smaller APS-C full frame cameras.

I'm 31 and fairly new to this hobby. Does that qualify as old?

None of the people i know that has bought mirrorless (nex and olympus mainly) have any large apperature tele lenses.

The nature of consumer products being what it is (old people already have their stuff; young people buy what is 'different') it won't be long before nothing is made but small aperture lenses for skinny hipster mirrorless plates with single-mm register distances.

And young people will never know what they've missed.
