Na Horuk is right. I'd also add that they are generally fast (large maximum aperture), and so lend themselves to narrow depth of field and low light work. ``````check out some reviews. There are some quality control issues (as there are with all manufacturers) but the better ones rival lenses costing four times the price in terms of optical quality. The 35mm would make a superb standard lens if you don't mind the size (it's big).
