Japanese article from CP+ with 645D 2014 pictures

??????????????????PENTAX 645D 2014(??)??CP+2014????? - GIGAZINE

Translated with Google Translate

It does have a red button and what looks like microphones on each side of the pentaprism, but I don't see a video mode switch like on the K-3.

I knew there was something hidden behind the tilting screen in those teaser photos. Two things I noticed:

- Assuming the red button is for both Live View and Video, how do you toggle them?

- The dial to the right of the viewfinder (under the yellow "645D" label) used to be the AF point toggle. That function seems to have been moved to one of the buttons on the top left ("AF Area" button), and the dial is now unlabeled. What does it do now?

Very simple :
- The dial top right of viewfinder is the LV / video lever (AF points/center /auto selector in former 645 D)
-The AF functions are same as on K-3 with dedicated button
-There is an external mic connector in the middle of the grip (very un ergonomic btw)

I'd say that, while a better positon could have been found for the mic connector, for video the camera must be on a tripod or a video rig, so the right hand is away for the grip.

That port in the middle of the right side of the grip is quite clearly the cable release port. The same port can be found on most other Pentax (non-entry level) DSLRs on the right side of the grip under the SD card slot.

Yea, Might be that this camera has 'just' a live view with that red button, not video.

edit, after seeing that post above...wonder what is under that tape?

Well seen. Hah! I'm beginning to think that this camera may have video. Just to stir the rumor pot, let me remind you of the Kitazawa interview two years ago where he said he "got goosebumps" from 4K video
