Another question... when you connect to the FluCard is it a direct connection from Laptop/mobile device or does it have option of going through some local network? What I am wondering is if the 'problems' with using a laptop with the card is due to signal deterioration because the wifi router typically would be further away than the mobile device. My eye-fi has trouble connecting to my home network when it is used in a K-5/K-3 (big magnesium body) whereas it works fine in Q7 (plastic body). However, it works better with mobile device when used in a K-5/K-3 because the signal doesn't need to travel too far.

@ruggiex: you have to build up a direct connection to the FluCard.

Mine has arrived and I've used it in anger. It is very sweet at what it does (remote control UI for still shooting). Comments are:
1) Remember that in landscape shaped browser there are no controls for shutter speed etc.
2) It can't use the Flucard applications such as FTP file transfer (yet..?).
3) It is a point-to-point link only (can't connect to WiFi network).
4) The firmware can be updated.

So... eye-fi Pro X2 has been ordered for that purpose.

For some reason, Pentax might disable Wi-Fi station mode and FTP client function for their OEM model from Trek. They may enable these functions, if they see enough number of the customer demands.

Interesting. For me FTP is more important than tethered shooting.

Eye-Fi is enough for you in this case.
