Some people apparently have a magical focusing gene. I don't. Picked up an 85mm f/1.4 Samyang for a good price to give it a try. The whole reason I purchased it is for low light work. When there's good light, it's easy to focus on the ME Super, and possible to focus with live view on my K30 or K-01. It is however impossible to focus in low light using any camera. So there's no point to the f/1.4, it's useless. With AF it'd be a stellar lens. I'd be able to shoot bands in bars and dancers on the floor. But it's just not possible to do that with MF. I'm just glad I didn't pay anywhere near full price. Don't plan to ever buy another MF lens again, to be honest.

Charles.

I can't say that I find it that hard to mf and I miss about as much as or perform better than the AF in my K-5 in low-lit situations. That is with the EES focusing screen and not the stock one.

That's truly unfortunate as you'll be missing out on the vast majority of great lenses and a significantly improved level of creative control.

That screen makes the difference IMO.

With the Samyang primes you can at least use Catch in focus to get some almost-AF function

Catch-in focus is unreliable at best, especially for an f/1.4 lens where the DOF is razor thin. It's even less reliable in low light.
