Indeed! Why should we have to live with 500- or 600-grams full frame compatible lenses on our small APS-C bodies? Is it really impossible to design an APS-C only lens that is 12mm F/2 and under 300 grams for the k-mount? Are there any lens designers in the room?
It's a little frustrating to have to choose between light-but-slow or fast-but-huge, when this 12mm indicates that it seems possible to find a pretty nice balance. If such a lens is really impossible to design for K-mount, then that's an argument in favor of switching to a system that has a shorter registration distance...
