Probably unsold stock from elsewhere. They're still in stock at b&h so they must be moving slowly outside of Japan.
I still think they made more then announced.

Are you sure? In Sweden they still have them at Scandinavianphoto (Pentax K-3 kamerahus silver edition med batterigrepp | Pentax K-3Pentax nya flaggskepp ) and at Cyberphoto (Pentax K-3 hus Premium Silver inkl batterigrepp D-BG5 silver digital systemkamera), where they actually have a sale by reduced the price from close to 14000 SEK to 11990 SEK ! (To get rid of last in stock?)

I've always wanted a silver body, my wife says I'd buy anything if it was labeled limited edition lol, however most of my lenses are black and I'm OCD about such things....

This is an all new production batch. Yes, Ricoh is making more limited edition K-3 and it is possible it will continue to be available in two models.
What does this prove?
No stock then stock again means nothing at all.

If Ricoh was keeping the unsold cams somewhere else you'd yell at them 'cos they ain't effective enough in managing inventory.

Yes, but they were producing some 10,000 of silver 'limited' edition K-3s by now, not 2,000.

That 2,000 is a tiresome number, because, it seems, 'all initial runs by Ricoh Imaging (including the new TC) go by 2,000'. After that, it is the matter of how they formulate statements — judging from their GR campaign, the K-01 production, now silver K-3, etc.

So when runs cease to be initial? I bet the silver edition is now running alongside with normal version once in two weeks or so, and then after a while the new batch is ready. But if you want to believe that 2,000 was the capped once-for-all run, go on and believe it.

I don't, because all their statements about production of cameras, their end of life, etc. turn out to be inconclusive and deliberate muffling.

Actually the 1.4x RC's initial monthly production volume was 1,000 pcs, and for the "standard" K-3, 10,000. 3,000 for the HD DA 55-300, 1,500 each for the AF360 and 540FGZ II... should I continue?
It's obviously based on estimated demand. However, for the K-3 Limited Silver we didn't had an initial monthly production volume - but a worldwide sales volume.

No wonder PF is such a skewed view of the world. With 66,xxx members we are virtually every customer of Pentax on earth.

Well, in the film era, black lenses on silver (chrome) bodies were generally the norm, so if you reset your OCD back a generation, you'll be fine.

I understand the Limited....vs the "not so limited issue", but it could be worse. What if those 2K silvers didn't sell? Would we be happier?

You know, if Pentax is just making more than the original 2,000 of these because people want them, I'm going to be unhappy. I didn't spend a stupid amount of money on my Silver K-3 so that the color could be reintroduced six months after launch.
That was same price as black version btw..

I don't beleive any thing.
You draw conclusions you can't draw. That's your problem, not mine.

It is true what you say. I think, generally speaking, we at PF are all nuts — to the highest degree.
Many would rather see those first 2000 silver cameras not being sold because it suits their nutty opinions, than a possibility that Ricoh Imaging indeed makes more of them because there is a constant pressure and demand for them.

I would be pleased if my Silver K-3 maintained its exclusivity, but I would be even more pleased if Ricoh sold 200,000 of them to help bankroll the Next Big Thing....
