Not to be completely off-topic, the review seems quite in favour of the new K20D, but I can't help feeling it is a bit biased. Either that, or I'm just not used to reading glowing reviews about Pentax cameras.
Wired magazine rated the K20D as high as Canon's 40D; almost as high as the D300.
Weather sealing, lens compatibility and very good pricing seem to be big bonuses.
Hi!
If this was your first reply to my topic all the other messeges would be useless. I have nothing personal against you and I hope you understand that. As of the review itself my background is IT and I frequent all the major IT sites (trustedreviews beeing a major one).
It is hard for some very experienced photographers here to take very seriously this kind of reviews but IMO they have 2 major bonuses: don't have a stong bias towards Canon and Nikon because they don't depend as much of them (business related advertising and bigger communities). And secondly the reviewers tend to make a "different" kind of report about cameras than on "photosites". Less technical of course but more towards "hands on experience" for an average user. And without offending anyone the traffic from this sites is tremendous and exposure is far greater than most specialised sites. And now to complain about bias towards Pentax and against Canon and Nikon is kind of not seeing the "special extra points" that dpreview gives anything with a C or N as a first letter in its name.
You can also check very recent reviews for 40D, D300 and E3. Only D300 scores a point better than K20D the 2 others are behind.
Peace, ftpaddict?
