Well, the one that is smaller, lighter, and doesn't require MF lenses, for starters.

The global dealer inventory of second-hand Pentax 645 lenses just evaporated.

Apart from Z being so new and so luringly priced, I wonder what will they do with the 645D?
Hopefully it will stay in production, and sold at a steady but lower price than now, in a similar fashion as Leica's M9 after the M240's announcement.

If Pentax continues production of the old 645D can it lure current 1Dx/D800/D4 users?

Medium Format video is a bit unprecedented though. I just wonder how long will the batteries last and how much computing power it would need

Yesterday I've visited Ricoh-Pentax exposition at Moscow PhotoForum-2014.

We can only "look at" new 645D.

- Specifications and official announce will be literally very soon.
- Body is the same (I was with my 645D), the only difference is tilted LCD.
There is a red button for live-view.
- So as LCD is mobile now, buttons under and to the right of 645D LCD - moved right, to thumb zone.
And now K-3 control style is obviously guessed.
- Video option is on board. Swith of photo/video is on the little wheel, where was the focus point selector.

Unfortunately, there was no opportunity to shoot, and that is why I can write soon only "preview".

It's an interesting question. In their place, what would you do? The choices are to pitch it a bit below the new camera, say around $6,500US, so it becomes a specification alternative or a second body option that doesn't cannibalise the new one, or pitch it just a bit above the high specification Canon and Nikon 35FF bodies, so it simultaneously draws some buyers away from them and forestalls any thoughts of entry they might have into MF. The advantage of either is the same – to increase lens sales and allow further development in that area, something that wouldn't happen if they were to ditch the old body altogether.

It's 4600 euro in Romania, that's less than $6500. But I don't think it will stay in production (probably that's already stopped) - as that means keeping a supply of Kodak/Truesense sensors, amongst other things.

In France, it's around 6,500€ with the 55 that alone cost around 1,000€.

I guess the old 645 is no longer in production.

~5.600 euro with the 55 (24.949 RON, I used Google to do the conversion); and for a brief period at the end of May, it might be 20% cheaper (given its uncertain status, I'm not sure about that). You could order it from Romania

Stocks should last for a while.

Well as long as these sensors are available and there is a profit to make, who knows. Maybe it just stays in production for some time.

Some photos are up on digicams-info. It appears that Ricoh is not printed on the back. Also shows a Flucard inserted in one of the card slots, which makes sense.
