Now with a Very Professional and high level camera like this Ricoh/Pentax needs to add professional support like wired tethering into capture one and lightroom.
Big time 'YES PLEASE' from me.

And not just in the Medium Format body but the Flagship APS-C as well as any FF camera they may or may not ever release in digital format.

I'm rather dumbfounded that Pentax, through the years, has not picked up on correcting the tethering situation through simple means (a cable and software support in LR and Capture One). Not in the K-5, K-5ii, K-3...

That and an improved flash system..

I think that issue may be as much to do with Adobe and Phase One as Pentax.

Pentax does offer a wired tethering solution for 645D called the Pentax Image Transmitter, and it looks like the same product will run on 645DZ. But it is not a LR or C1 plugin, just standalone.

PKTether also seems to run OK on 645D.

But yes, full support for LR/C1 controlled tethering on K-3, K-5, 645D would be very nice indeed.

Those are all the terrible workarounds

We just need proper Ricoh/Pentax and Adobe/PhaseOne supported tethering similar to what Canon and Nikon have.. even the Rebel Kiss XT supports tethering in LR. Throw us a bone, Ricoh! I'm pretty sure if Ricoh does their part, Adobe and PhaseOne will do theirs..

And Fujifilm do their part. And Olympus. And Sony. And Hasselblad, And Panasonic. And Samsung. None of those have direct LR or C1 tethering support either.

I get the feeling Adobe and C1 aren't making it as easy as they could be for camera makers to provide direct tethering support.

All I want to see in the Mk2 is the compulsory dark frame subtraction (exposures over 30sec) removed. Anything else is gravy.

It seems that the successor of the 645D can already be ordered in Germany, same specs as posted above but the price is different: EUR 5k for the body (USD 7k).

I clicked on the shop link, looks like it's for the current 645D, notice the pics.

What seems to have happened is the uploaded the 645Z's specs under the 645D heading.

Phase One with a complete support for 645Z?
I don't expect it. They'll make sure of it

Yes,also parts of the K-3 are twice in the 645Z.
Processor twice,buffer also twice.
Same style like to 645D times.
Maybe the same in the 35mm Pentax, than we get a fast fullframe if they are using also double style.
Best regards
Asahi Man, could you please check/explain the part about dual processor?
I thought, well that's the information we got before, that Fujitsu's processor could NOT work in multiprocessor mode with another one.
Either that information was bogus or the situation changed.

It is possible Adobe and C1 require a development payment or a license fee for the plugin, or they won't spend the money because they don't believe development costs would stimulate enough new software sales. Given the challenges apparent getting the Flucard ready timely, if it was so easy I suspect Ricoh would have done it.

Pentax 645Z with Sony sensor will go at crazy high ISO (204,800) & 4K interval mode

QuoteQuote:
Short rumor about the new Pentax 645Z camera that should feature the new Sony 51MP medium format sensor. Digicameinfo leaked the images of the camera and also the specs. And Phototumors reports that it will cost $8500.

So this will be the cheapest Medium Format camera on the market with a Sony 51MP sensor that goes up to 204,800 ISO, does a sort of 4K in interval mode (???). As you know there are rumors saying Sony will do a sort of digital mirrorless Mamiya 7 (here on eBay) camera. And it should be cheaper than the Pentax. If it becomes true this will be an amazingly interesting camera!
Sony madness: Also Pentax 645Z with Sony sensor will go at crazy high ISO (204,800) and has 4K “Interval” mode. | sonyalpharumors

A myth for the "right" brand always beats up a real Pentax product.
