It will be shown in some specialised shops in Paris during the first week of June.
Let's hope SD cards plugins will be allowed...

645Z's first public appearance in London on May 28!

Apparently the 645Z will make it's first public appearance in London this coming Wednesday, May 28th, at Calumet Photographic London (93-103 Drummond Street, London, NW1 2HJ) between 10-4pm!

People can try out the camera out and there will be Pentax experts to ask any question.

You say there's a Bulb mode on Pentax 645Z. Is the maximum exposure time of the sensor in Bulb mode: 30 sec? Or it can be exposed longer? What is the bulb exposure time limit?

Bulb is used for exposures longer than 30 seconds.
I'm not aware of any time limit, though there are practical limits - e.g. battery consumption and sensor heating.

Lucky you. I hope someone will post photos comparing 645Z vs 645D.
My local dealer confirmed shipping date at the end of June / start of July.

If I visit the B&H Photo website from Germany, (expected) availability is still on 30 May 2014? Would be interesting if 27 June 2014 is the global shipping date, possibly some retailers will get their orders before that date.

Yesterday i got the chance to test the first pre-serial model shipped to Europe.
The commercial shipping should start first half of july up there.
Seems quite a lot of pre-orders are piling around

Maybe I missed this earlier in this thread, but full size 645Z JPG images are available now. V1.0 firmware, several lenses and scenes:

Sample Images?645Z | RICOH IMAGING

Looks nice. But using JPEG Custom Image tones and in-camera scene modes (like Bleach Bypass)...?

Apparently, Japanese customers are crazy about those modes. Ricoh Imaging is run by managers from ex Ricoh's camera division — kooky, uncommunicative, Bohemians — and they are even more Japan-centric that what Pentax ever was. That fact worries me a lot, but thank God, I hope camera is customisable enough for everyone to use own settings.

First shoots with the first-to-be-shipped-in-Europe pre-serial 645Z last monday : a great experience !
The rendering in low-light is superb, far behind any of the 24x36.
The dynamic is in progress over D, as well as noise : i would think about 1EV more, and Z's ISO 6400 same as D's ISO 1600.
Shutter seems slightly less noisy as well, articulated screen is really stunning.
Unfortunately, the pictures cannot be published.

So now you have to choose again - $3,000 for IQ or $8,500 for stunning IQ.
