What can we do? And do they need saving? Are they still not doing well after the Hoya merger?

Save it from what? Selling too many units and becoming too popular so we all have to find some other minnow to support?

Save Pentax from being lost in a Canikon world.

Pentax is doing well even before BK, he was an icing on the cake that melted, sad to see him go though.

Cheers,

I don't know if it's been mentioned previously, but Pentax had a two page spread inside the front cover of the current PCPhoto magazine. That's a start, but I'd like to see them in some more publication.

if im getting this right, you are afraid of pentax losing its 'underdog' status and becoming and acting like canikon, right? I don't really see that happening, even if they do gain a lot of popularity and market share they well always be the smaller company to most people and I really don't think they will ever be on the same level as canikon. I don't see that they need saving personally. if they can make it through the plastic fantastic FA-J period to survive and still remain true to their former and still remaining customer base I think they will do just fine now. the falling out with Ben is something between him and pentax of trance not the entire company so I don't see anything to worry about.

Ben's relationship with Pentax was a contract, nothing more. I don't see any loss on my part, and I will continue to support the brand I grew up with just as I have before.

Doing my part. :)

I know at least five people who have bought Pentax under the influence of my advice.

As I've said before, what really impresses me with the K20D is the number of small things which they've improved apparently based on comments here and in other online forums. Or, if they didn't get it directly from here, at least from listening to their customers. So, I think one thing we can do is to continue to take photographs and continue to communicate our needs.

That being said, faster AF and fps (that seems to have been bugging a lot of people on the forums lately)

I've convinced my BOSS (of all people) to order a K200D after more than 10 years of being an avid supporter of Canon.

My co-worker just ordered a K20D instead of a Canikon. This is his first DSLR and he was influenced heavily by me and the fact that I have infinite knowledge of all things PENTAX(just don't tell him that I get all my info from here!).

your secret is safe with us, that is unless he becomes a member of the forums and finds out the truth for himself.
