Are sales off the K-3 dead?

I was wondering about new salesnumbers and googled for it and came up with some site.

http://dslrphoto.com/dslr/space.php?do=jranking&view=all

So only the Q10 gets in the list with 3 items starting at #48. No K-3 in it for the first 80 places!!!!!!! So reviews are just there for clicking and not buying or is this list not accurate?

I know that overhere all sales off camera's are slow compared to a year ago.

At the popularitylist off DPReview where the 5 most popular camera's are listed during 5 days the K-3 was stunning popular. Now it is the Leica T (wich not a sole is buying), but the 645z didn't even make the list for a single minute.

You can say anything you like with statistics. All depends who is paying for them.

I think it rather depends from which stores they're taking the data. We're often considering bcnranking's data as representative of the Japanese market, but is this really the case?

On kakaku.com's top DSLR sales, the K-3 is on the first page - at #13. The 645Z is on #103 (previously was in top 100), and that's amazing for a medium format camera.

Uh, the most popular (over and over again) in sales is the Canon T3i, which was introduced in 2011. Maybe the K-7 would be on the list of Pentax didn't actually discontinue making it...

Looks like it's not on Amazon's top 100? Surprising.

What are you talking about, it's on #49

To compare with Europe, the K-3 is currently on #94 on amazon.de - with 173 days in top 100. Let's see France - #36, that's better; or #53 on Amazon.co.uk. All in top 100.

Tha is better news. I looked in the biggest webstore in The Netherlands and the K/3 is #106 at the time.

I've just spent a couple of days roaming the flash big malls of Kuala Lumpur while on holidays. Canikon everywhere, some good Sony Center outlets. Even some reasonable Samsung stock. Found one store only that even had a Pentax display sign. And going in for a chat, they didn't actually stock any Pentax cameras. It would seem that you have your work cut out for you just to find a Pentax camera in Malaysia.

Getting a retail presence in specialist camera shops seems to be Pentax's biggest problem.

That seems to be true. I travel a lot and the few times I have connected with other travellers with a Pentax they have been from France. One exception to this rule, but that was arranged via this forum.

Burnt bridges and all that... I don't know it it is THE biggest problem. I think they have a problem positioning themself - defining what is the feature that sets them apart from Canikon.

I don't care about sales figures. Love my K3 silver ltd, despite how many people buy it.

It is declining, but Pentax K-3 never get lower than 20th position. Check kakaku:
http://kakaku.com/camera/digital-slr-camera/ranking_0049/?lid=shop_pricemenu...ng_button_0049

Currently hold 13th position, with weekly reporting. And the best position I have ever seen was 7th position. I think K-3 is always in a good position.
FYI, I was living in Japan, and Kakaku is always a good reference for looking cheapest product sold by many online shops throughout Japan market.
