Spring Magazine Samples

Just got back from the studio. Here is one sample of many to be posted from my shoot for "Spring" Magazine June Issue. One of 12 pages plus the Cover. This is Raw off the camera not yet retouched.

Pentax K20D plus 31, 40 Ltd's and 16-50 DA* Lenses. Only problem..Shot 22.7 Gig of images..Yikes!!!

PS...There were perhaps thirty people who came to the shoot and several asked "Pentax?" Another person stated, "I would have thought Canon or Nikon! Wow, 'You are using Pentax?' I just went out and bought the Nikon D300. If I would have known you were using Pentax, I would have purchased the K20D."

I KID YOU NOT.....That IS the consumer mind set.

Look forward to watching this along Ben. Already it has a certain "something".

But gee, how about feeding the poor girl, I guess thats the look they want, but they look so fragile (nice way of saying skinny).

Ever seen or heard of Taylor Monroe? now thats a real woman.

Thanks for sharing and look forward to seeing this project develop.

Cheers
Grant

Beautiful, you sure have vision. Shocking that this is RAW untouched, I better not look at any more of your K20 shots, I end up not resisting it.

Great shots! I'd be curious to know your preferred shooting mode on the camera while working. I've only just practiced with 'M' and static scenes/objects so far, but it seems with a lot of dynamic variables to capture it might be prudent to use 'Tv' for something like this?

Thanks.

Makes sense. Little eye opener there for me, being able to control the lights in a shoot - of course! This is the next horizon for me to explore.

Its inspiring to see good modelling, make-up, lighting, costume and photography come together. The quality of a shot can be seen without the need of any PS at all.

Thanks.

holy moly! 22 gigs?!?! granted, you're dealing w/ the k20d, but still that's a lot of shots! just curious, what percentage/amount of shots make the "to be considered" list? and do you use the single shot mode or machine gun style?

really great pics as always... great lighting and love the dreamy flow of the material. of course attractive models always help anyways, thanks for sharing!

I shot the eqivalent of about 3 rolls of 36 exposures per clothing change or single page. That is really not a lot. There are about 10-15 images from each page that makes final select status and then of course only "1" image per page. This is a twelve page story.

OH and it was 22.7 Gig of images...that was about 1200 photos. I shot in "M" single mode only. Mix of "HMI" Cinema Color Corrected Lights, Mandarine Tunsten Lights and Broncolor Flash.
