That's the critical question for me... or in this case can you see it? Pentax claims that currently the new sensor's pixels use 40% if their area to gather light. I would say that's room for improvement right there (I know there's a lens in front of each one which also helps). I'm sticking to my belief that in a few years APS-C will come so close to what FF is today that you won't be able to tell the difference. Yes, FF will still continue to get better, but there will come a point when APS-C will more than fill the needs of most people. If you still need more improvement, then perfect the foveon sensor, or Fuji's super pixel sensor. (I'd love to see the latter in a Pentax pro body) There will always be some advantages to FF, but there will always also be some advantages to APS-C, and I think it's been shown that APS-C is capable of producing some incredibly professional looking images.

Now this is what gets me every time. IMO Image quality != noise. DOF is also crucial, and there is no way to get past physics in regards to objective size on the image sensor. I for one would welcome (and gladly pay for) a larger sensor for that reason alone.

My belief is the same.

Will change in the future, though, when we approach the perfect sensor.
(My statement was about comparisons at the same technological level, i.e., date)

Will you see the difference? Definitely. Why else do studios shot with MF digital backs and use plenty of artifical light? Do you need it? Definitely not! Pros with APS-C perform wonderfully today.

?

My AGFA Isolette is smaller than my *ist DL. That's 6x6 versus APS-C.

If Samsung go FF, which I know they will, I have no doubt that they are working in conjunction with Pentax.

When will you give up

First, look at the age of your profile.PentaxForums.com - View Profile: WendyB

Then look at this https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-news-rumors/23562-so-much-pentax-h...ce-k20d-6.html

Then lets take a look to your profession as a surgical nurse in the "Days of Our lives" which also doubles as a farewell note. https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/general-pentax-photography/27752-leaving-forum-end-note.html

Then ask yourself what the heck are you still doing wandering around. You need to have nerve to keep playing with the people. What will be next a Munchaussen by proxy?

Maybe Summer?
With *60-250 for FF?
We have: 31,43,77,200,300 and no FF zooms.
I hope 17-70 and 60-250 will be.

Those DA* 50-135 and 16-50 can't cover FF? I am so into Pentax Prime lens, it seems a waste not to get the prime when you are in Pentax system, IMHO

We know for sure that 17-70 is not FF, as it vignettes on APS-C!

In case you missed it, Wendy. Yet another short-sighted gaff by them.

Cheers,
Cameron
