Almost Positive about FF Pentax...I think...

I am quite certain that Pentax will come out with a Full Frame DSLR. Of course that is only my opinion and you know what they say about opinions. Lets just say that for some reason, my opinions often come to fruition.

boy how I wish, I am still hesitant about purchasing DA lenses because Im still hoping they will. I want to be able to go from my digital to one of my film SLR's without any change in focal length/FOV as I tend to carry one digital one film body usually both with a 50mm.

And here I am trying to find the money and justification to upgrade to a K20D from my K100D.

I guess the good thing is all I have is old glass...the only crop-sensor glass I have is the kit lens.

I wonder by the time the FF appears, if K20D is sub-$900 and FF is $2500 which one would most people go for ?!!

I would purchase the FF in a heartbeat over any other crop sensor DSLR. having the same FOV with all of my lenses is really that important to me.

I think you are right.
Pentax will either go FF or bancrupt, in the 21. century

FF pentax would be a professional camera, undoubtedly accomodated with professional pricing $$$$

I don't think all is lost with DA lens, i think there will be subsequent generations of APS-C for a while... that said, i only have 2 DA lens.

séamuis: DA lens != APS-C lens. DA = no aperture ring and digital coatings.
Most of them are FF lenses, although some have slight vignetting but that's no surprise if you've ever used a film camera...

let's hope it matches the original set of limiteds in colour and build quality. The return of metal would be a great thing in cameras, rather than the apparent impermanence of plastic cameras regardless of their price (the Nikon F4 looks so permanent next to all the other plasticams). Not to mention the prettiest camera of all time, the MZ-S (which still didn't match the limiteds).

And I guess they'll have some new glass coming out in addition to the 50 and 100 macros (DFA's and DFA*'s). Don't know how their current nomenclature will work, if some of the DA*'s are full frame and some are not.

BTW, which ones are full-frame again?

I for one look forward to it, and I hope they do something about the edges and corners so the old glass works properly. And I guess it would be an easy thing for them to accomodate cropped glass by having an APS-C switch on it, kind of like the 'panorama' mode on the PZ1-P.

I'll buy one, definitely.

Cheers,
Cameron

Why bancrupt?! I think FF DSLRs there are less than 5% of DSLRs sold in a year, because not so many people are buying DSLRs that cost more than 2500-3000 USD. And I think this is lower margin for Pentax FF price, too.

I am very well aware of what DA lenses are.
