I ordered. Will be delivered tomorrow, but I might not get it 'til Monday because there probably won't be anyone home to sign, unfortunately.

There's no telling whether or not another shipment will come soon after these run out, since we don't know how many K-mount lenses Sigma made in the first batch. Remember, Sigma might decide to go months between batches.

Hope to hear good things about this lens, but mostly I hope it puts a little downward price pressure on the DA 20-40 Limited. Prefer the size and WR. But won't order yet until I hear how this one performs.

This listing is confusing because Amazon doesn't specify the mount in the name or description, but going by the manufacturer's model number (210109), this is in fact the Pentax K-mount version: Amazon.com : Sigma 210109 18-35mm Lens for F1.8 DC HSM for APS-C sized sensors (Black) : Camera Lenses : Camera & Photo

Just in case anyone is waiting for Amazon to take advantage of Prime shipping and such.

If only it was weather and dust sealed like the DA* line, and had comparable rendering (not saying it doesn't), I'd probably be most willing to replace my 16-50 even though I've started using it a lot more recently, since I got an AF teleconverter and can pop it out to 75mm when I want more distance.

With a nice 1.4 or 1.5 TC, this would be around 25-50 and still faster than 2.8, in case you needed a little more length.

I'll be curious to see pictures on Pentax cameras. Happy for you all. Wish I had the dough, but I just purchased a K5iis, so life is good.

I can't wait to read what others have to say about this. The things that I don't like are the limited range(although a very useful range) of 17mm and not really wide and not quite long enough and the lack of weather sealing which is the real reason I'd spend more right now as I want to use it in wet conditions primarily. It also is not full frame capable which I know will be a factor eventually. I wonder if it will work well with the HD TC as I hear third party doesn't work as well as Pentax lenses(sorry, not sure on TC so someone please clarify if needed). The only thing I like is that it's f1.8. The da*20-40 just doesn't seem to do much that excels for the price except cover more range and has the important for me WR. So my best option for daylight normal shooting WR lens is still the 16-50 secondhand and if I don't care about bokeh or low light the 18-135(which I have but haven't used as I haven't decided). I'm sure if this had WR I'd negate the limited range, TC incompatibility possibility, full frame possiblity and price and buy it in a heartbeat possibly even selling my Sigma 35 Art if needed for funding.
