Just to give you an idea of what to expect receipt wise, here's a thing called a pic.

I just called Precision about my K-30 repair which is in Delay status, waiting for parts. The first time I called and pressed 0, it rang twice and then hung up. I called back and this time got an answer. The very nice lady knew who I was without even asking (I guess they go by the phone number) and checked status. She told me they ordered a diaphragm control block on Nov 4 and parts generally arrive in 10-14 business days. So, today would be the earliest it would arrive.

Anyway, it was nice getting a person on the phone and getting some information after some of the things I've read in this thread about difficulty getting updates from them. Maybe they are improving! I just hope the part arrives soon and they get the camera out quickly. I imagine with Thanksgiving being next week if it doesn't get done this week, I'll probably be waiting until after the holiday.

Precision shipped my K10D Thursday night UPS 2 day air for Monday delivery. I waited all day yesterday and it didn't show up. I checked the status and "it is out for delivery." I called last night and they said it would be delivered by 7 PM. It was then 7 PM. I checked again this morning and "it is out for delivery ." I think UPS owes Precision a refund.

It's here! The K10D is nice and clean and everything works! It was an expensive lesson for old fumble fingers here for trying to blow out dirt from the viewfinder. Yikes!

I'm assuming that even if the cost of the actual repair comes out to be less that you end up paying the full 200.
Can anyone verify the validity of the assumption?
I was quoted $208 and they actually charged $98.

I shipped off my K5 today.

Repair is probably going to take a while because from what I read on the forum back in the CRIS days they had to order the lens release button- I'm assuming it'll be the same deal with Precision.

My K5iis that Precision received on October 23 moved into "Out of Repair" yesterday, November 21.

Here's hoping I get it back for Thanksgiving!

Thanks for sharing. This seems to a be about normal turn around for repairs like this. It looks like our concerns from earlier this fall were unfounded.

The good news is that they ship it back 2-day air.

That's great to hear. My part is supposed to arrive the 24th. Fingers crossed. I wonder, do they stock any parts there at all? 2-day air is very nice.
