Its for filling up with orange juice on a hot day out.

Hmmm. Sexy. Still no fast wide prime. Still no viewfinder (I know, we can all mostly live without it).
This should be interesting.

A viewfinder just makes it a bigger camera so might as well be a different model range.
The q is a q because of its size.
Looks nice to me, but if this one's gonna be mag-alloy too, then will it also launch at the original Q's launch price?

Hopefully they go back to the metal that makes the Q so prestigious (see what I did there?) feeling. I have a feeling that this pseudo-Leica with angular top shapes with gun-metal looks will be seen in a lot of the coming Pentax models.

Practical question; how to calculate image circle?

Of a lens? You calculate it like its other optical properties when you design the lens (you rather use it as an input parameter) and you measure it on an actual copy: lens focused on infinite, illuminated by a far source, you measure the diameter of the luminous circle on a support placed at register distance.

I mean not at design moment, but at the end user.

The other 'thing' on the front looks a lot like a large button - which might be able to be operated using the middle finger. Although I can't really think why it would be necessary.

Without seeing the back it's not really possible to say if there might or might not be provision for an optional viewfinder.

Glad to see the Q replacement leaked this early. I was getting worried that the Q replacement was being saved for Photokina as the big Pentax announcement.

I don't believe the inclusion of an EVF would necessarily make the Q larger. Look at what Panasonic has done with the LF1, which has the same-sized sensor as the Q7. Frankly, even if it was a low-res EVF (like the LF1 has), it would still make a huge difference when working in bright sunlight. I wouldn't be worried about manual focus in this kind of situation. Of course, if it was even a mid-res resolution EVF (say, 1 million dots?) that would be great.

I suspect this will be plastic, based on the silver lugs in the pictures and because I don't think they will make the mistake again as they now know they can't get $800 for one.
