Looks like a true successor to the metal bodied Q is coming soon.

??????????PENTAX Q2 ????? - ????info

Gunmetal version will be available too!

Later, I'll figure out how to correct that ridiculous spelling mistake in the thread title. Apologies for that.

Hmmm. Sexy. Still no fast wide prime. Still no viewfinder (I know, we can all mostly live without it).

This should be interesting.

I'm not buying unless it has an optional EVF. I love my Q7s, but I also love to properly see what I'm taking a photo of!

It's a new focus assistance tool: it contains a thread you can unroll to measure the distance between your camera and your subject.

Since they are using the same 02 and 01 lenses then I suspect the sensor will not be larger than Q7, but perhaps a different MP count?
The right grip bump is gone from the Q, Q10, Q7, so maybe the round thing on the right is an attachment point for an accessory grip?
Also I predict plastic body, not magnesium since the strap lugs are silver like in Q10 Q7 and not body colored like in the original Q.

strange, if that's a dial it would require two hands to operate the Q.

The second SLR I bought was a Ricoh designed Cosina, marketed under the brand name of Prinzflex. That had a shutter speed dial on the front of the camera. I'm not saying that's what it is, but it just might be that or an aperture control.

Edit: New thought - it could be programmable, of course, and be either an aperture or shutter speed control, or whatever.

Hmm, interesting. Been putting off upgrading my original Q, perhaps this one... Looking forward to Photokina.

If this is true, I'm all over it. I have the original Q and almost bought the Q7 but got the MX-1 instead, which I'm pretty happy with. I love the Q, and find myself leaving my K-3 at home more and more and taking the MX-1 or Q with 01 prime wherever I can go. IQ is obviously ridiculously better with the K-3, but I get a lot of keepers with the two small Pentax's as I find myself taking more risks, being able to take more photos without drawing attention with a big DSLR.

EDIT: Someone speculated m4/3 which I don't think is possible without new lenses. If it was the case, I'd be smitten. I got a lot of good stuff out of my E-PL1.

EDIT 2: That gold one is fugly.
