That is 42 million US $. That is substantial, about 1/3th of the price Ricoh payd to purchase Pentax.
I have long contended the (low) price Ricoh paid for Pentax came with the knowledge there would be need for large follow-on investments over many years. I have also contended, had Ricoh not been forced during the global recession to restructure and rationalize its employee profile, these investments would have started two years sooner.

The price is not disclosed. The figures floating around are unsubstantiated rumours.

They did sell, or try to sell, some real estate. Whether it was this plant or something else I don't know.....

Japanese optical glass-maker Hoya Corporation stated on July 1, 2011, that it would sell its Pentax camera business to copier and printer maker Ricoh, in a deal the Nikkei business daily reported was worth about 10 billion yen ($124.2 million).[10]

[Citation 10 above] Reuters It would be nice to find a transcript of the news conference or the Report made to the Tolyo Stock Exchange.

Wikipedia article

"Hoya closed the Pentax-owned factory in Tokyo, and moved most of their operations to Southeast Asia. All professional (DA*) and consumer (DA, D-FA) lenses are produced in Vietnam, whereas DSLR cameras are produced in Philippines.[citation needed]"

Which of course does not mean Wikipedia is correct, nor does it mean the real estate was not sold subsequent to its closure.

It appears to still be owned by Hoya, they list it in their locations.

Indeed, AFAIK it's an estimate made by Nikkei - in any case, Nikkei is the only source, a reason good enough to doubt its accuracy.
Anyway, it's ~4.8% of the capital investment planned for the entire Ricoh. I'd say it's significant

Sounds logic, you keep real estate when it is not part of the deal. You keep value, at least you hope it has value. Looks like an empty spot, but could be taken on a sunday or so.

There were a few cars when Bing got their last "Bird's eye" view...

(Note the "HOYA" labels - whoever provides the data to Bing thinks it's Hoya property.)

I had no idea how many assets the buzzards actually stripped. That beats Ronald Perlemann and Icahn combined. Rises to the level of 19th C. railroad financiers.

Apparently, it's being used for manufacturing medical ceramics/implants.

New Ceramics Products : Lifecare Division : PENTAX

It kind of makes sense that since Hoya only wanted the medical imaging part of Pentax, they would ship the photo machinery overseas and convert the factory in Japan to the business they intended to keep.

You're correct. But let me add one thing. Tochigi plant pictured above had Pentax's camera museum, and produced medium format cameras and lenses. Most of digital camera production lines were already transferred to Philippine and Vietnam when it was revealed that Pentax merged with Hoya.

Somehow this plant looks like big enough for today's Pentax in total. Do we have some information on the buildings used for the production in Vietnam and Phillipines?
