New Q looks nice but pretty much just a Q7, unless it really a new processor as oppose to old proccessor under a new branding. Surprised that Ricoh didn't find a way to put their name on there.

It is encouraging that Ricoh are continuing to put effort into their very smallest interchangeable lens system, and their largest.

Now what about the system(s?) in between?

The US website says that the Quick Dial and grip (knob thing) are aluminum.

Sorry, Ricoh site give specs:

Construction material(s): Reinforced polycarbonate plastic

Only the knobs (quick dial and 'grip')are aluminium.

So it seems more of a tweak than anything else. Which is fine--I'm glad to see the Q line continue to receive attention from Ricoh. But the naming is interesting...I do wonder where they go from here.

The slightly deeper question I have is.. why are they announcing these now and not in a month before Photokina?

These less significant news would be buried by news from bigger players, so announcing them now make sense. Also, maybe, just maybe, Ricoh has something else bigger to announce then?

I've decided to not criticize anymore.

Thought I'd never get a Q, then got two on closeout.
Love it, just wish it had better IQ and battery life.

Thought I'd never get a MX-1, then I got one the other day.
Love it. GREAT little camera!

So, I think I am going to shut up from now on.

As long as it has Pentax on it, I will be a sucker to buy it.
Now or later, I can't resist Pentax.

Why are there no kits listed with the 01 lens? This seems like the mandatory must have lens for the Q. Great quality images and nice little prime. I guess many consumers are probably more interested in the zoom lenses though which if I ever got a Q again I would want both zooms too.
