Camera Poll by PCMAG

To be honest and sharing with the Pentax community here!

I don't want Pentax to be famous :P (So that we can be unique) Yes I know it is a selfish reason.

Pentax spots a third place in this poll result by PCMAG

Two points. First of all I don't understand PCMAG, both Canon and Pentax received overall scores of 8.8 yet Canon is listed as a tie with Nikon for a "Readers Choice" award yet Pentax WITH THE SAME DAMN SCORE!!! gets an "Honorable Mention"?
Secondly, quoting from the article "Pentax, the little camera company that could". So WTG Pentax even if PCMag's reasoning seems a bit bizarre to me.

Me too, and Computer Shopper back when the mailman put on his back brace to deliver it. I must admit I did enjoy the Gateway 2K ads.

I remember paying extra (I forget how much) for a 2x sized HDD. I got an extra 40Mb. I remember when Extended Memory was a big deal (that extra slice of RAM above 640K) and EMM software.

Why is it so hard to do a Firmware Update?

My first hard drive was 10mg! And I thought at the time "how will I ever fill up 10mg?" Now my raw photos are twice that size and my standard SD card is 32gb. But I don't understand the firmware update statement, I've never had a problem updating my firmware (after the first time of not putting it in the root directory of the SD card)

NaCl(I've found the instructions for firmware updates to be pretty clear)H2O

Hard drive, my first computer did not even have one--only 5 1/4 floppy discs.

So Canon is 8.84 and Pentax is 8.76. They both round to 8.8 but Canon wins.

Why attribute this to an error or stupidity when there are plausible explanations such as the one above?

Did I say anything about "an error or stupidity"? No, I did not. Maybe the issue is laziness, for instance.

If PCMag determines that Canon "wins" over Pentax, they should explain why - perhaps your theory is correct. It would take only a single sentence. Or perhaps add another decimal place to their chart.
