Well, that would at least be original

And with a short flange distance, they could provide a K-mount adapter in addition to a 645-mount adapter, with the option to auto crop to 35mm or APS-C size... (who knows, maybe some old K-mount lenses even give decent results on 33x44 sensors?)

Dear Sir: With all due respect to your status in the industry - why on earth would we actually reveal our true plans to you? For all we know you are the VP Production Planning for Canon making out to be someone else.

Is our letter the 'good authority' to which you referred yesterday?

I heard from Pentax. They do indeed have a dedicated section for the FF. They cut them in half, in making the ASP-c sensors. The section's motto is "measure twice - cut once".

Yes, I think, considering who wrote back to me, that it's a good source.
Also, I am pretty sure Ricoh knows I'm not the "VP Production Planning for Canon" Thanks for the promotion though - Where do I pick up the pay cheque?

Did you ask to be a beta tester of the prototype? :cP

Personally... I'd like to see Pentax/Ricoh make a replacement to the K-01 - something thats a little more mainstream.
Something that's a little like the A5000/Nex-5T on the APS-C mount, and something like the Samsung NX3000 or Samsung Zoom for the Q mount.

On a similar thought... replacement of the screw drive on the 'new' entry level models and kit lenses would be a step towards modernization. Eg. 18-55mm DA-L / 50-200mm / 55-300mm could go the DC route that the 18-135mm went.
I'd still like to see them on traditional SLR's, as there are MANY old lenses out there, and lets face it - Pentax isn't CanoNikOny in volume.

As a matter of fact, I did ask just that, in reply, but have not received an answer to that query!

Please do ask about FF. I know it has been asked before, but it needs to be asked again (unless we are treated to a surprise).

Just in case you didn't see these:

I don't know if this has been posted yet.. didn't read all the pages.

Will they put Ricoh on the back of the next flagship Pentax camera? If so, why?
Why so little presence in the US? No Pentax DSLRs in Best Buy, Target, Costco.. No Advertising.

Ask them how they plan to stay viable with such a small presence outside of Japan

Hi Adam,

Are you going to post a compiled list of the questions you're going to ask?

Thanks,
Tesla

I think Adam gave up on making a list - last time it was a disaster, and now the questions aren't much better

I've read 5 pages of this thread and all I see are jokes / people making fun of Pentax for not having a full frame. So I think this is probably the route that we'll take in this year's interview.

For the reasons quoted by Kunzite, no, the questions won't be shared ahead of time. Please keep serious suggestions coming in this thread and they will be considered
